Where the events will be held?

Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) is proud to host the European Championship. CTU has a few localities, see below where the events are located.
The events on Friday will be held in Bethlehem Chapel – Betlémské náměstí 256/5, Prague 1 – Old Town
The sponsors’ presentation, solutions, and award ceremony will be held in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering – Technická 1902/2, Prague 6 – Dejvice
The contest will be held in the Faculty of Information Technology – Thákurova 2077/7 , Prague 6 – Dejvice.

Dejvice Campus

What are the dates of the event?

March 22-24, 2024

Will accommodation, transportation, and meals be provided?

Accommodation and transportation to/from the airport are not provided!
From/to airport, you can use public transport. Catch the trolley bus no. 59 and go to the latest station Nádraží Veleslavín, where you switch to metro to station Dejvická. There are a few types of tickets based on the validity time:

– 30 minutes for 30 CZK (~ 1,3 EUR)
– 90 minutes for 40 CZK (~ 1,7 EUR)
– 24 hours for 120 CZK (~ 5 EUR)
– 72 hours for 330 CZK (~ 13,5 EUR)
Tickets can be purchased in ticket machines or in the mobile application.

How to transport to Bethlehem Chapel – Betlémské náměstí 256/5, Prague 1 – Old Town?

By public transport to the tram or metro station Národní třída and then by walk.

From hotel International:
From tram stop Nádraží Podbaba or Zelená to stop Národní třída, tram no. 18

From Campus Dejvice:
From tram stop Lotyšská or Vítězné náměstí to stop Národní třída, tram no. 18

From Airport:
From bus stop Terminál 2 or Terminál 1, take bus 119 to metro station Nádraží Veleslavín. Then switch to metro line A and continue to station Můstek where it is needed to switch to line B and continue to Národní třída. 

From Národní třída the Bethlehem Chapel is 414 meters by walk.
Go straight down to Spálená Street, cross the crossroad, continue along street Na Perštýně, and then turn left to Bethlehem Square where the Bethlehem chapel is located. Here is a map.  

How to transport to Dejvice Campus – Faculty of Electrical Engineering – Technická 1902/2, Prague 6 – Dejvice?

By public transport to the tram station Dejvická or Vítězné náměstí or metro station Vítězné náměstí and then by walk.

From hotel International:
The FEE is 963 meters by walk. Go straight down to Koulova Street and then continue in Stavitelská, Studentská, and Technická streets. The map is here.

From Bethlehem Chapel:
By walk to Národní třída and then take tram no. 18, direction Nádraží Podbaba and exit on tram stop Zelená or Nádraží Podbaba.

From Airport:
From bus stop Terminál 2 or Terminál 1, take bus 119 to metro station Nádraží Veleslavín. Then switch to metro line A and continue to station Dejvická and then 235 meters by walk. The map is here.

Am I able to bring family/guests?

Family/Guests are able to spectate at the competition but accommodation, transportation, and meals are not covered. All of their expenses would have to be paid on their own and need to have access to their own transportation.

What are CTU’s current mask/COVID-19 restrictions?

There are no COVID-19-related restrictions at CTU. The CTU campus community is encouraged to continue with good behaviors like handwashing, avoiding touching our faces and staying home or self-isolating when feeling ill. These actions can help reduce the spread of COVID-19, as well as common colds and seasonal flu. Members of our campus community and visitors may choose whether to wear a mask.

What can I expect from this event?

Lots of learning, competitive fun, and life-changing opportunities in meeting with industry professionals!

I have special requests/needs for lodging and food accommodations. Who can I reach out to?

Requests for special needs should be entered into the ICPC Registration system no later than March 1, 2024. Please email euchelp@icpc.global with questions.

Does CTU have Wi-Fi all throughout Campus?

YES! There is accessible free Wi-Fi in all areas throughout campus. Look for the Eduroam network. As always, WiFi will not be available during the Dress Rehearsal on Saturday 23rd March, or during the Competition on Sunday 24th March.

Are all events mandatory?

Check the official Schedule 2024 at ICPC EUC webpage. Mandatory activities are indicated with a star (*).

May I bring food onto the contest floor?

You may NOT bring any beverages. Water will be provided. You may bring some snack items. These will be limited to items that are not likely to be a hazard to the computer equipment.

NOT THESE:
Doritos (cheese-dust); greasy chips
Chocolate
Brownies, crumbly cookies
Pears, oranges (juicy fruits)

 

THESE ARE OK:
Baked chips (no coatings)
Hard candies; gummy bears
Shortbreads or single-bite items
Bananas, grapes, apples

You must put all your snacks in a clear plastic bag and present it for inspection as you enter the contest floor. The decision of the floor personnel on whether or not a particular snack item is acceptable is final and may not be appealed. The item will be removed, and we will not be able to label or “hold” the items for you.
